Full Itinerary

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Home-stay (L, D)

This morning, your driver and local guide pick you up and transfer you to Cai Be town. Cai be is always busy with goods transported to the market by rafts, boats, and a lot of trading activities.

Then, we visit local workshops to learn how to make rice paste, coconut candy, pop-rice, pop-corn. Also. You can opt to visit the handicraft village where you can observe local people make special products such as rice-net for spring rolls, fish sauce, cooking salt, soya sauce,…We stop for lunch afterward.

In the afternoon, we will get on a small rowboat which zigzags through a maze of shadow canals and takes us deeper into the countryside to enjoy the fresh air and wonderful water coconut tree scenery. After that, we arrive at the homestay, check-in and enjoy the must-do activity of the day is biking. We pedal through village paths to witness natural scenery of farms, houses and daily lifestyle of local people.

Last but not least, we back to the homestay and learn to cook some dishes with the owners. Then, we enjoy dinner and have a cup of tea or rice wine while talking to each other. It’s a great time for you to understand more about their culture, people and history of this poetic land. Overnight at homestay.

Day 2: Vinh Long – Can Tho (B, L)

After breakfast, we get on a boat on the river for a cruise along some small canals and the endless waterways of the mighty Mekong River. En route, we will stop to visit a brick factory where you can have a look around the enormous kilns. After that, a scenic boat ride takes us back to the vehicle for the drive to Can Tho where we will stay overnight.

Day 3: Cai Rang Floating Market – Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Wake up in the early morning, we will take the boat trip to visit the largest wholesale floating market in Mekong Delta, Cai Rang floating market. You will get the feeling of traveling back in time cause buying and selling activities at present is as it was in many decades. Stare in awe when you see smooth performances of traders juggling fruits boat to boat. Interestingly, in the middle of such a bustling trading scene, you will still somehow find strangely comfortable moments while immersing in the rustic lifestyle of the locals and breathing in the cool breeze of the mighty river. We head back to Chi Minh city for your departure. Your day tour from Saigon ends.
