Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)
Your private guide and driver will pick you up at the Noi Bai International Airport and transfer you to the hotel in Hanoi. Enjoy the warm dinner and stay overnight there.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which includes Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum – the final resting place of the beloved national hero, Uncle Ho – and President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house where he lived during the period between 1958 and 1969. Also, you can visit the Ho Chi Minh Museum where you can learn about what he did for Vietnam and the world. Then, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, a pagoda built over the water in the middle of a square lake.
After lunch at a restaurant in the Old Quarter, visit Hoan Kiem Lake, the heart and the soul of Hanoi. Afterward, get to the Temple of Literature, which was Vietnam’s first university. Experience Hanoi’s best nightlife with tasty street food and bustling streets.
Day 3: Ha Long Bay Overnight Boat (B, L, D)
After early breakfast at your hotel, depart for the amazing boat trip to the spectacular natural wonder of Ha Long Bay. You will have a chance to cruise on beautiful emerald green waters on the traditional Vietnamese junk boat through limestone islands. Explore Ha Long Bay by kayak then spend your night on the boat.
Day 4: Ha Long Bay Private Island Stay (B, L, D)
Continue soaking up the natural beauty of Ha Long Bay throughout the day before arriving at the private island. You can chill out in a hammock, play beach volleyball, relax on the beach and take a sunbath.
Day 5: Ha Long Bay & Ninh Binh Homestay (B, L)
Arrive back from Ha Long Bay mid-morning and then, head south to the peaceful countryside of Ninh Binh, the land of seemingly endless rice paddies and epic limestone mountains. Discover the locals’ hospitality by staying with a local family in the rural house and it is your chance to immerse yourself in their daily lives. Also, you can admire the sunset view while relaxing in riverside bungalows for the evening.
Day 6: Ninh Binh & Overnight Train (B)
After breakfast served at the homestay, take a bike ride through the countryside before boarding a rowboat and cruising a network of rivers and caves. Then, tackle the iconic 450 steps of the Dragon Mountain Viewpoint for sunset. After that, freshen up before boarding the overnight train south to Hoi An.
Day 7: Hoi An Arrival
You will arrive early morning in Da Nang before taking a short bus to Hoi An Ancient Town, one of the most beautiful towns in Vietnam. This picturesque riverside town still owns a wealth of century’s old traditional architecture. You can contact Ann Tailor for a free tailor-made item of clothing or do some shopping. Then head out and experience Hoi An’s amazing nightlife.
Day 8: Basket Boat Tour with Crab Fishing & Cooking Class (B, L)
Experience fishing by lift net or cast net, try crab fishing with bamboo poles on the basket boats with the local fishermen. In the afternoon, join a cooking class to learn some awesome recipes, make savory traditional dishes and have some great insight into the local culinary culture.
Day 9: Ho Chi Minh – Departure (B)
After a quick transfer back to Da Nang, catch a short flight to the southern city of Ho Chi Minh City, your trip finishes here.
